But on June 25, other drugs failed to do the job, as Murray recounted to detectives in an hour-by-hour account detailed by detective Orlando Martinez of the Los Angeles Police Department.
-- At about 1:30 a.m., Murray gave Jackson 10 mg of Valium. -- At about 2 a.m., he injected Jackson with 2 mg of the anti-anxiety drug Ativan. -- At about 3 a.m., Murray then administered 2 mg of the sedative Versed. -- At about 5 a.m., he administered another 2 mg of Ativan. -- At about 7:30 a.m., Murray gave Jackson yet another 2 mg of Versed while monitoring him with a device that measured the oxygen saturation of his blood. -- At about 10:40 a.m., "after repeated demands/requests from Jackson," Murray administered 25 mg of propofol, the document said.
"Jackson finally went to sleep and Murray stated that he remained monitoring him. After approximately 10 minutes, Murray stated he left Jackson's side to go to the restroom and relieve himself. Murray stated he was out of the room for about two minutes maximum. Upon his return, Murray noticed that Jackson was no longer breathing," the affidavit said.
it makes me so sick to think that such a pure soul was killed with all this vile crap in his system. it is such a contradiction. i can't describe the injustice of it. even if this doctor and all the responsible parties are held accountable, which will never happen, the life that they have taken will never be returned. |

http://www.theage.com.au/world/china-riots-156-dead-in-ethnic-unrest-20090707-dann.html
this article from the age has a picture of the bodies of 5 chinese people who have been shot/stabbed/beaten(?) to death in the riots, just laying uncovered on a street corner. there is blood on them and on the walls.
what shocked me the most was the fact that i wasn't in the least affected by seeing such a graphic image. it looks like a scene from a dark PG-13 movie.
i find this quite disturbing.
and in other news, i'll probably be at fed square tonight at 3am to watch the mj memorial with some other fans. i'm going to be a mess. :( |

so things have been crazycrazybusy over the last few months. lots of work. not very exciting. i did however, turn 26 last week, and that was pretty fun :P
this is going to be an update on my backyard, which, as it turns out, summarises events over the last few months pretty well.
( click me if you're interested ) so that is how my garden (and me) have fared through the last 3 months. i'm not ready for winter yet! |

it has been raining for 3 days straight in melbourne. i think my herbs are pretty happy. when i took a look at the backyard this morning, i thought, 'hey it hailed!'. but when i went to pick up what i thought was a chunk of ice, it wobbled.
we were a bit omgwtf for a few minutes until we looked it up, and apparently our soil has lots of water crystals, which absorb water and then releases it back to the ground when it's dry. so clever!
( pics! )

ah, i'm happy. :) for the last 2 years, our backyard has looked like a big gum tree sneezed and sprayed gravel and plant-snot everywhere.
( but now it doesn't anymore! click for pics. ) yay! all we have to do now is put a coat of sealant on the stones and hope that our little plants don't get sick or eaten. |

1. your only source of new/current music is group fitness classes at the gym.
2. your bottle of nail polish remover is now mainly used to clean your glasses.
3. you are wondering whether or not it was the right choice buying tickets to the paul young & tony hadley concert instead of the stevie wonder one. tony hadley = lead singer of spandau ballet. used to look like this, now looks like this.
sigh. |

it's smack bang in the middle of a long and painful week, so what better way to start the day than a quick meme which makes me look like i'm doing work :) stolen from aliki.
* Grab the nearest book. * Open the book to page 56. * Find the fifth sentence. * Post the text of the next seven sentences in your journal along with these instructions. * Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.
"Although the hypergeometric distribution h(r) appears complicated, it has some surprisingly simple properties. The most probably value of r is found to within one unit by setting h(r') = h(r'-1) and solving for r'. We find r' = (n+1)(M+1)/(N+2). If r' is an integer, then r' and r'-1 are jointly the most probably values. If r' is not an integer, then there is a unique most probable value \hat{r} = INT(r'). Thus, the most probable fraction f = r/n of red balls in the sample drawn is nearly equal to the fraction F = M/N originally in the urn, as one would expect intuitively. This is our first crude example of a physical prediction: a relation between a quantity F specified in our information and a quantity f measurable in a physical experiment derived from the theory."
